ABOUT THE SERVICE

The Business Permits and Licensing Division is one of the most functional and productive office in Masbate City Hall. It generates millions of pesos of taxes, fees and charges from business sector. It provides sufficient funds which enable the City Government of Masbate to pursue infrastructure and other projects, and sustains basic facilities and services to its residents.

CLIENT GROUP

Individuals and corporations doing business or plan to do the same within Masbate City are BPLD’s clients. All operators are required to secure Mayor’s Permit or Business License while operating new or existing business. To facilitate them at the most shortest time and simplest way, here are proposed documentary requirements and processing flow while securing trading permits:

  3. City Market Clearance (Stalls in City Market)
  4. City Fish Complex/Terminal Clearance (Stalls in Complex/Terminal)
  5. Zoning Clearance
B. Renewal Business
  1. Community Tax for Single Proprietorship/ Corporate Tax For Corporation
  2. Previous Year’s Mayor’s/Business Permit
  3. (Stalls in City Market) 3. Tax Clearance Certificate from City Treasurer’s Office.

The proposed flow chart reduces processing time and documentary requirements for securing Mayor’s/ Business Permit. This is one of the shortest and simplest way of applying trading permit and one of the best practices that has been long applied by progressive cities in Metro Manila in streamlining operations and eradicating red tape and corruption in the government.

No taxes, fees and charges shall be collected from the client while processing at the BPLD in the City Administrator’s Office.
