Among the mandates of the City Health office is to diagnose and treat and give appropriate medical services to any individual who needs medical services to any individual who needs medical assistance. The City Health Office has 30 Barangay Health Stations that provides this service.

1. Go to the City Health Office and proceed to the admission section and provide the necessary information during interview for the purpose of recording in the individual treatment card. 2.  Proceed to the consultation area to undergo examination. Medical advice will be given and in cases requiring medication, a prescription will be issued. ABOUT THE SERVICE

As part of its commitment to stem sexually transmitted infections, particularly among high-risk groups, the City Health Office treats clients with STI and issues Health Cards to workers in the entertainment establishments who pass the medical examinations for STI.

IV. INFANT’S IMMUNIZATION
ABOUT THE SERVICE

The City Health Office provides immunization to infants 0-11 months old. An anti-tetanus vaccine is also available to pregnant women to prevent the occurrence of tetanus neonatorum in infants. The immunization is conducted in all Barangay health stations.

IV. COMPREHENSIVE MATERNAL CARE
ABOUT THE SERVICE

The City Government of Masbate targets low, if not zero maternal mortality and morbidity rates. To achieve this, the City Health Office implements a comprehensive Maternal Care Program for pregnant and lactating women. Clients are advised to submit themselves to monthly pre-natal check-up. They should submit themselves to post-partum care at least two or to three times within four to six weeks upon delivery.

VIII. ADVOCACY AND TREATMENT ANTI-TUBERCULOSIS PROGRAM

The City Government in partnership with international and national government and non-government organizations, implements an anti-tuberculosis program to prevent the spread of tuberculosis and to treat TB patients.

IX. SECURING SANITARY PERMITS
ABOUT THE SERVICE

Food and non-food business establishments are required to secure sanitary permits to make sure they conform to the standards of the Sanitation Code of the Philippines. Workers in said establishments are also required to secure health cards. Businesses fall into two categories:

  1. Food or those dealing in food preparation and processing. In this case, proprietors, managers, waiters or waitresses and cooks are required to secure health cards.
  2. Non-food or other establishments not involved in food preparation and processing, in which ease managers, helpers, salesman, salesladies and laborers are required to secure health cards.

Sanitary Permits and Health Cards are requirements for securing Mayor’s Permits and Business Licenses in the City.
