The City Government of Masbate, headed by Hon. Rowena R. Tuason, entrusted a fire truck unit to the Bureau of Fire Protection-Masbate City on November 23, 2015.
The turn-over ceremony transpired after the flag raising ceremony of the City Hall employees. Said initiative of the City was geared towards strengthening the partnership between the LGU and BFP-Masbate City.
In his acceptance speech, F/INSP Francis B. Castillo expressed his and his dedicated firemen’s sincerest gratitude to LGU-Masbate City for entrusting them the new LGU Fire Truck since their existing firetrucks are over 30 years old now. He said, “napapanahon po ini na bag-o na LGU Fire Truck sa aton Ciudad san Masbate, para padayon ta na masiguro an siguridad kag proteksyon sa nagadako na bilang san aton populasyon, negosyo kag mga establisyemento sa Ciudad san Masbate.” He is confident that this new fire truck will give confidence to businessmen to invest in Masbate City since their firefighting capabilities have been strengthened by the new fire truck.
F/INSP Castillo promised LGU-Masbate City that the Bureau of Fire Protection will utilize the new fire truck for effective firefighting capabilities and purposes and in any disaster response that might happen in the City of Masbate.
After the turn-over ceremony, a Memorandum of Agreement between the Local Government Unit of Masbate City and Bureau of Fire Protection Masbate City was formally signed.
Present during the signing of the MOA were City Vice-Mayor Ruby Sancez-Morano and some of the City Councilors.
